Bonifacio

The village is built up around a deep inlet very similar to a small fjord with white limestone walls. Inside this inlet there is the famous harbour.

Bonifacio owns an important history told by the Churches, the Monuments and the historical buildings that lead back to 6.500 years ago. Today Bonifacio lives on tourism. It is a very lively town in the summertime, with its characteristic restaurants and shops. The most beautiful part of the town is the “old town”, divided into Città Alta e Città Vecchia; from the streets of the Medieval city, we face an incredibly beautiful scenery that ends with the Sardinian coastline.

Hundreds of little bays between the cliffs can be visited in this part together with beautiful beaches near Bonifacio: the most famous ones are Tonnara, with its characteristic seabed ideal for diving and Cala Paragnano that looks out on a turquoise sea. On the eastern part we find extraordinary beaches such as Rondinara and Santa Manza while on the North part we find the beaches of Porto Vecchio and Santa Giulia ( Palombaggia), ideal for families and children activities.
